Xavier Woods Returns To WWE SmackDown On 3/25
The King is back on WWE television.
January 7 was the last time Xavier Woods competed on WWE SmackDown, suffering a torn Plantaris. On that night he teamed up with Kofi Kingston to take on The Usos in a Tag Title Street Fight. The following week during the opening of G4’s Attack of the Show, he shared the news of his injury and estimated that he would be back in 4-6 weeks.
Nine weeks later on March 13, the 2021 King of the Ring returned to action, teaming up with Kofi Kingston at a live event in Jackson, MS. Even so, he didn’t return to TV, until now.
On March 25, Woods made his return to television, being introduced by Kofi Kingston as a surprise opponent for Ridge Holland. He wasted no time, pinning Holland in only a couple of minutes.

Woods and Kingston had been separated from fellow New Day member Big E while he was on Raw, but the former WWE Champion would join SmackDown officially on January 28, three weeks after Woods went down with an injury. Big E would help Kingston fend off the likes of Happy Corbin, Madcap Moss, and Los Lotharios.
On March 11, Big E sustained a broken neck on SmackDown following a Belly-to-Belly Suplex from Ridge Holland that didn’t go according to plan. The former WWE Champion shared an update on his condition the next day saying that he has two fractured vertebrae, but will not require surgery.
