Even More Scott Hall Tributes, WWE Set To ‘Attack’ On G4, Latest AEW Road To | Fight Size

Here’s your fight size update for Tuesday, March 15, 2022:

– Following the passing of Scott Hall, even more tributes have poured in. Bret Hart shared the following on his Facebook:

“I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Scott Hall. I wasn’t very close with Scott in his later years, but upon reflection, I can flashback to many happy and fun memories of the days when he was my friend. I think Scott carried many heavy crosses long before I ever knew him. He was a good friend to Owen long before he became Razor Ramon. Wrestling life can be so much fun, and at the same time, it can take all you have at the same time. I will always remember Scott in the better times with his cool, dry sense of humour while playing gently with my sons. We had many matches and he was a hard worker. I loved my matches with him at Royal Rumble and the first King of the Ring in 1993. I fondly look back on so many terrific matches he had with Owen, Davey Boy, Sean Waltman (123 Kid), and Shawn Michaels. We’ve lost so many wrestlers from my era, and this is just one more to a list that’s far too long. I won’t blame any one thing, but I do believe that if the days of wrestling 300 days a year had been kinder and more considerate, if we could’ve been home with our loved ones more, many of my old friends and brothers would still be here. I think Scott would smile to know that so many people really loved him and will truly miss him. One more wrestler. A fine machine gone too soon. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.”

– Scott Hall’s Hall of Fame speechwriter, former WWE Writer, Stephen Guerrieri, shared his memories of helping Scott write his speech:

RIP Scott Hall. I had the good fortune of working on his 2014 HOF speech. I was a huge fan & requested to be his writer. We met to discuss the speech & he’d done his research – having watched a bunch of prior HOF speeches, he concluded, “Everyone talks way too damn much.”

With HOF speeches, there’s no real time limit, so inductees generally soak up the spotlight as long as possible. But Scott didn’t want to drone on and on. He wanted his words to have impact and to leave the audience wanting more…

He laid out his speech… I helped with structure, but made very few suggestions – didn’t need to, it was all there – then we BS’d for the next hour. He ended up telling a bunch of crazy, hilarious stories that would’ve never made air anyway. He seemed to be in a good place.

Only took 4 minutes for him to give an instant classic HOF speech. Just before his go home line, the emotion of the moment overwhelmed him. It’s usually cut out of the clips shared on Twitter now, but it instantly conveys how much wrestling – and the fans – meant to him.

Working with him is one of my favorite memories from WWE. I’d been warned ahead of time that he might be difficult. He was the complete opposite. Bad times don’t last. But bad guys do.
