TNT Championship Changes Hands On 3/9 AEW Dynamite
A new TNT Champion has been crowned.
On March 9, Sammy Guevara put the TNT Championship on the line against Scorpio Sky. The match was negotiated by Dan Lambert after Tony Khan initially offered Sky a spot in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. Sky, for his part, earned the opportunity by not having lost a singles match in AEW since March 10, 2021.
During the bout, Sammy pulled out a table and attempted a splash onto Sky, but was met with nothing but wood, landing spine first on the ground. Scorpio was able to take advantage, focusing on Guevara’s bad back. Sammy fought valiantly despite his error but was unable to overcome Sky, who would eventually score the win to become the new TNT Champion. He is now the first person to ever hold the TNT and Tag Team Titles in AEW.
Scorpio Sky will have his first title defense next week when he faces Wardlow.
