Welterweight Clash Set For UFC 212

A welterweight division clash has been added to the upcoming UFC 212 card as Yancy Medeiros will be seeing action against Erick Silva.

Medeiros (13-4-0-1NC) has won three of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Joe Proctor, John Makdessi and Sean Spencer. Medeiros has been with the UFC for almost four years now and he has earned a total four wins in the promotion. Medeiros also competed for the Strikeforce promotion, earning a pair of victories over Raul Castillo and Gareth Joseph.

Silva (19-7-0-1NC) has won just one of his last three in the UFC, defeating Luan Chagas, while suffering defeats to Neil Magny and Nordine Taleb. Silva has yet to put a winning streak of any kind together during his UFC tenure, which has been for five-plus years at this point.

UFC 212 takes place on Saturday, June 3 from the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Jose Aldo and Max Holloway headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
