– On Twitter, Adam Pearce, who was one of the driving forces behind the WWE 205 live series bid farewell to the brand.

To every soul that set foot between the purple ropes, put pen to purple paper, and brought the purple brand to life:
Thank you. My gratitude always.

– Speaking to talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair talked about a potential match with Ronda Rousey:
The fact that Ronda is back in WWE, I think there is definitely a possibility on the table. I’ve been an athlete my whole life and I love competition, I crave competition, I run to competition. So anytime I have the chance to get in the ring with someone like Ronda Rousey and all of her accolades I will run towards that opportunity. I can’t wait for the possibilities in the future with Ronda Rousey.”
– While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Riju Dasgupta, Austin Theory commented on accusations
“You see stuff online where people are like, ‘It’s ripping this off, it’s ripping that off.’ To me, it’s a different way of doing it and I’m going about it a different way. Anything that people might have seen before or think they might have seen before, they don’t want to get along with it because they’re like, ‘Well, it’s already happened.’ But I think what I do is totally different.”
– Lita spoke with the New York Post about a post-WWE future.
“Anything’s possible, anything could change. I’ll worry about that after the Elimination Chamber. But I’m approaching it all with an open mind and ready to go with whatever’s thrown in front of me… This is a hell of an opportunity. You don’t know where it will lead you, so don’t spend a lot of time wondering. Just take the opportunity and make the most of it and leave it up to fate”
– In an interview with Empire Magazine, Dune director, Denis Villeneuve, commented on why Dave Bautista, among others, got less screen time:
“When you adapt, you have to make bold choices in order for the things to come to life. And I think that was the best way to introduce this world to a wide audience. Now in the second one, I want to have more flexibility, and it will be possible to go a little bit deeper into some of these details. It’s like a chess game. Some new characters will be introduced in the second part and a decision I made very early on was that this first part would be more about Paul Atreides and the Bene Gesserit, and his experience of being in contact for the first time with a different culture. Second part, there will be much more Harkonnen stuff.”
– WWE stock closed at $57.44 per share today.
– John Cena to Star in ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ for Warner Bros (via The Hollywood Reporter):
The actor has closed a deal to star in Coyote vs Acme, a live-action/CG animation hybrid feature from Warner Bros. centered on the classic Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote.
Dave Green, who previously helmed Earth to Echo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, is directing. Chris DeFaria and James Gunn are producing the film. Screenwriter Samy Burch penned the latest draft of the script, based on the New Yorker humor article “Coyote v. Acme” by Ian Frazier, published in 1990.
– ICYMI: Peacemaker Season 2 is coming
HBO Max Hit Series PEACEMAKER Renewed For A Second Season
Season One Finale Debuts February 17
· Following the stellar launch of PEACEMAKER, HBO Max has renewed the critically acclaimed and fan favorite series, written and directed by James Gunn and starring John Cena, for a second season. The eight-episode first season of the DC spinoff series premiered on Thursday, January 13 and will have its finale on February 17. Gunn will direct and write all episodes for season two.
· Rolling Stone heralded the series as “inspired” and “thrilling,” highlighting that “in a wildly oversaturated market for tales of hyper muscular men and women punching their way to justice, PEACEMAKER stands out.” PEACEMAKER debuted as the #1 new original streaming series for social engagement on Twitter across all of television and remains the #1 social show YTD across Max Originals on multiple social platforms.
· Logline: PEACEMAKER follows the explosive escapades of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of James Gunn’s 2021 film “The Suicide Squad” – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.
· Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max quote: “The brilliance of James Gunn once again shines with Peacemaker. He took this character, brought to life by the inimitable John Cena, and created an exceptional series that’s simultaneously thrilling, hilarious and heartfelt, showcasing the humanity beneath this team of misfits living in a superhuman world. As the first original DC show to have its series premiere on HBO Max, we are thrilled that the viewers agreed to give peace a f***ing chance.”
· James Gunn quote: “Creating Peacemaker has been one of the true highlights of my life, both professionally and otherwise, with John Cena and the incredible creative team around me, as well as our partners at HBO Max. To have something we all love so much be loved by the audience in turn has been a wonderful experience. I can’t wait for folks to see where Team Peacemaker goes in Season Two!”
· John Cena quote: “I am incredibly honored and humbled by the response to Peacemaker and the experience of playing this character. Thank you to James Gunn, Peter Safran, HBO Max, the crew, and my castmates who worked tirelessly to make this unforgettable series.”
· Season 1 cast: John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Chukwudi Iwuji, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.
· Season 1 credits: James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of PEACEMAKER and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Peter Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series, with John Cena as co-executive producer and Stacy Littlejohn as consulting producer. Based on characters from DC, PEACEMAKER is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
