The Miz Believes John Morrison Will Succeed In Everything He Does Post-WWE Release
The Miz comments on recent WWE releases.
When The Miz started his journey in WWE back in 2004, many assumed he would not last very long. Fast forward nearly 20 years later, and The Miz has become one of the staple characters in modern WWE.
However, in the nearly 20 years that he has been there, he has had to watch many of his friends and contemporaries be released by WWE. Most recently, there was a set of releases that included John Morrison, somebody that Miz worked very closely with throughout the last number of years.
The Miz, on the Rich Eisen Show, openly discussed the most recent set of WWE releases, including his former tag team partner, John Morrison.
“It’s always tough when your friends and colleagues get released but you always wish for the best for them and you do what you do, you just keep going. When my buddy, John Morrison, when he got released, he was my tag team partner for a very long time, and when he got released, I was like, ‘Ah man,’ but I know John and the type of person he is and I know he’ll succeed in everything that he does, so you always wish the best for them. For me, in WWE, when you go to Monday Night Raw, ‘Alright, what am I doing. How do I make this something that the live audience, who paid money for their seats can get something out of this and really sink their teeth into and have a memory.’ Whenever I see a dad with their son or mom with their daughter, you want to create a moment for them so when ten years down the line, ‘Remember that time we went to a WWE event and The Miz did this or this superstar did this?’ That’s what you’re always looking to create. Am I sad when people get released and my buddies go somewhere else or do something else? Of course, but it’s my job to keep elevating myself and keeping myself at a certain level to where I can do the best I possibly can for the fans out there.”
Just before his release, John Morrison and The Miz ignited their rivalry which had not existed since Morrison left WWE in the previous decade. Unfortunately, the two never got to have their match on Monday Night Raw because The Miz was selected for Dancing With the Stars and John Morrison was released by the time he came back.
Morrison had a very positive outlook following his release. You can read more of his thoughts at this link.
