Melina Wishes Moment With Sasha Banks Was A Singles Match
Melina continues to reflect on her WWE Royal Rumble appearance.
Melina returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble, entering at number two to square off with Sasha Banks, who entered at number one. Melina only lasted 53 seconds in the match before she was eliminated by Bank.
In a previous Instagram post, Melina thanked the fans and Sasha Banks, while also hinting that time was taken from her in the Royal Rumble match:
In wrestling there may be moments where a storyline is taken away, you’re taken out of a segment, times are cut, your match gets scrapped and/or you get treated like you you don’t matter enough to be used… but at that Rumble, the crowd reaction, the love I felt and all the kind words that were said, THAT was pure & real.
Erase me from history or take away my time in the ring, but THAT moment at the Rumble will be something that no one could ever take away and it will stay in my heart for all eternity.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Seeing the reaction videos, the posts and the comments filled my heart with overwhelming love, joy and gratitude. I can’t say it enough, THANK YOU.

In a new Instagram post, Melina wished that she could have had more time in the ring with Banks, hoping for a singles match with The Legit Boss.

Last year, @impactwrestling & @nwa gave me two great matches that I will always cherish. One with @deonnapurrazzo & the other with @kamillebrickhouse. Both gave me so much joy. It also proved I can still get in there with the best… SO, that night at the Royal Rumble, I was ready to GO!
I wish that moment with Sasha was a singles match. To think if we were able to get a reaction like we did that night without wrestling… Can you imagine what we could do if we actually wrestled?!!!
I can wish for a match with you with all my heart and it may never happen, but whether it was 5 seconds, 60 seconds or 20 minutes in the ring with you Sasha, I’m grateful for that magic moment at the Rumble no matter how short. I will forever keep that in my heart.
Melina’s return at WWE Royal Rumble marked her first WWE match since 2011.
