Elias Theodorou Says Wanderlei Needs More Mexican Supplements, Praises Ryan Bader’s New Contract

Elias Theodorou certainly has a theory on why Wanderlei Silva did not choose to fight Mirko Cro Cop, and he wasn't afraid to express it during the latest episode of his podcast.

Showdown Joe and Theodorou discussed Silva's scheduled, then canceled, fight against Mirko Cro Cop for the RIZIN promotion in Japan.

"I just think it was not enough Mexican supplements to fight someone like Cro Cop," Theodorou said. "That's a big man but when you see the shell of a human you would fight in Bellator, called Chael Sonnen, why the f— would you not do that? Sorry for my French."

Silva is set to face Sonnen in the main event of Bellator 180, which takes place June 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Theodorou also discussed some of the particulars for Ryan Bader's new contract with Bellator. That deal has some unique terms; specifically, that Bader will receive a flat fee for each fight, whether he wins or losses, but would receive bonuses for finishing his foes.

"I like that. That makes sense," Theodorou said. "That's great. That's great. That's the same incentive aspect but it's also a guarantee that is not half your money. That's totally perfect. I love that."

Theodorou also indicated he would like to see the UFC consider similar deals in the future, describing the performance bonuses as "a much better aspect.

"That is a progressive act on the UFC's part if they were to do that. I think that's a great thing."
