Johnny Knoxville Explains How WWE Royal Rumble Entry Came About, Says He’s Bringing Friends With Him
Johnny Knoxville is coming to the WWE Royal Rumble and he’s not coming alone.
Knoxville is slated to be one of the 30 men to enter the WWE Royal Rumble and he was technically the first man to enter, declaring his status as an entrant on January 1.
Speaking to Howard Stern, Knoxville explained how his appearance at the Rumble came about.
“We were doing promotion backstage at WWE and their head writer took me and Jeff Tremaine out in the hall and he’s like, ‘you want to make a run for the Rumble?’ I was like, ‘Yeah…what do you mean?’ ‘The Royal Rumble.’ ‘Oh, yeah, for sure.’ Then, I’ve just been training 24/7, flipping huge truck tires over the fence. The neighbors are so angry. Truck tires weigh about the same as that pretty boy Austin Theory,” he said.
Knoxville and other members of the Jackass crew appeared on the December 10 episode of WWE SmackDown.
In an interview with St. Louis Today, Knoxville said he won’t be alone at the Rumble.
“I’ve got some corner men I’m bringing with me. I’m going to have the greatest corner there that night,” he stated.
Knoxville has been involved in multiple segments with Sami Zayn on WWE SmackDown in the build up to the Royal Rumble.
