AEW Dynamite: Beach Break Preview – Lights Out Match, Title Unification Ladder Match, CM Punk, More
It’s Wednesday night, you know what that means.
All Elite Wrestling hits Cleveland, Ohio with the 2022 iteration of Beach Break and they look to make history in many ways.
From a Lights Out Match with pride at stake to the first-ever one-on-one Ladder Match in company history, here is everything to look forward to on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.
Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy look to finish their rivalry at all costs.
Since the moment he arrived in AEW, Adam Cole took aim at the more popular wrestlers on the roster including Jurassic Express and Best Friends. So far, Adam Cole has beaten Orange Cassidy at every turn but with no disqualifications in the upcoming match, anything is possible. Orange Cassidy looks to pick up a big victory at the show that was named after his finishing maneuver and on the bright side for Adam Cole, if he does happen to lose this match, it will not affect his Flawless record as Lights Out matches are unsanctioned by AEW.
Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara look to determine the true TNT Champion
As plans will be, they will sometimes go awry. Cody Rhodes was scheduled to defend his TNT championship against Sammy Guevara at the first-ever Battle of the Belts event but COVID-19 had other plans. instead, Sammy Guevara defeated Dustin Rhodes to become the interim champion and now, both men will hang their respective championship belts above the ring and the official Champion will be determined in a Ladder Match.
This is the first-ever singles Ladder Match in company history and whoever wins will cement themselves as one of the top two names in the singles men’s division.
The Inner Circle ride again to take on 2point0 and Daniel Garcia
Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle have been the dominant faction in AEW since the very first episode of dynamite but now, cracks are beginning to form in the foundation of the group as Santana and Ortiz want their freedom and the ability to move on to the Tag Team Championship picture.
Daniel Garcia and 2point0 have been a thorn in everybody’s side since they arrived and they look to pick up another trios victory here. Also, looming in the background is Eddie Kingston who is an independent party aside from his relationship with Santana and Ortiz dating back to their time outside of AEW.
CM Punk and Britt Baker will be in attendance.
Not all the big stars are wrestling tonight, CM Punk and Britt Baker are each scheduled to address the audience on the microphone.
CM Punk is currently embroiled in a rivalry with Maxwell Jacob Friedman and just quickly turned back the challenge of Shawn Spears last week. The best in the world wants to get an official match with MJF but have yet to figure out how to actually MJF to agree.
Britt Baker remains the top name in the women’s division and is coming off of a mixed tag team Victory with her boyfriend, Adam Cole last week. Now, the DMD looks to the future.
Leyla Hirsch and Red Velvet settle their issues.
Leyla Hirsch has shown a change of heart lately as she attacked former friend, Red Velvet backstage last week. Now, they look to settle their score in the ring as each wants to move up the rankings and get a future Women’s World Championship or TBS Championship opportunity.
