Sami Zayn Re-Signs With WWE, More Details
Sami Zayn has re-signed with WWE.
Last month, it was reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there was backstage chatter that Sami Zayn re-signed with the WWE as his deal was coming due. Fightful Select has been able to confirm that Zayn did actually re-sign with WWE and is locked down for several more years. One person we talked to around that time said Zayn was kind of private about the negotiations, but that WWE made it clear they wanted to retain his services.
TVA Sports had reported that Zayn’s deal was set to expire in late 2021, as was long-time friend and foe Kevin Owens’ deal. Fightful Select reported that Owens signed a three-year deal with the company, though we haven’t learned the length of Zayn’s deal.
Zayn has been involved in a feud of late with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, which looks to be poised for a Royal Rumble payoff. Zayn has been with WWE for the last nine years, signing with them in January 2013. Before ROH’s hiatus, Fightful had been told by people in the company that there would have been interest in him. We’ve heard the same from All Elite Wrestling talent, but not officials, as we were told they won’t discuss talent under contract.
