Spoiler: New Match Set For IMPACT No Surrender, ROH Star Debuts, Title Change At IMPACT Tapings

News is coming out of the latest IMPACT Wrestling tapings.

First, a new match was announced for IMPACT No Surrender on February 19, 2022. After invading IMPACT at Hard To Kill, the Ring of Honor Five (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent, PCO, & Maria Kanellis-Bennett) have been attacking IMPACT talent weekly, living up to their self-appointed name of Honor No More. Last Thursday they had to be chased off by a crew of talent including Eddie Edwards, Chris Sabin, Rhino, Heath, Willie Mack, and Rich Swann.

During the tapings, IMPACT Executive Scott D’Amore announced an ROH vs. IMPACT 5 vs. 5 match for No Surrender where if the ROH faction wins, they can stay in IMPACT. It was not specified who would be competing for IMPACT or if Kenny King, who also joined Honor No More during the tapings would be competing with his former ROH stars.

Kenny King previously competed in IMPACT in 2005-2006 and then again from 2012-2015 where he was a two-time X Division Champion. His second and most recent stint with ROH began in 2015 and concluded at Final Battle 2021 where he faced Shane Taylor. La Faccion Ingobernable man was a two-time Television Champion and three-time Tag Champion in Ring of Honor.

Additionally, there was a title change at the tapings as Matt Cardona officially became the Digital Media Champion.

After years of being the self-proclaimed Internet Champion, Matt Cardona is now a recognized Digital Media Champion under the umbrella of IMPACT Wrestling. Cardona defeated Jordynne Grace at the IMPACT Wrestling tapings on Friday, January 21. Cardona had made the challenge to Grace on the episode of IMPACT that aired on January 20.

This marks the first time that Matt Cardona will be able to wear a recognized championship belt representing the world of digital media, which he helped pioneer as Zack Ryder. Cardona did, in a recent tweet, poke fun at WWE recognizing his Internet Championship in a newly released book chronicling WWE championships throughout their history.
