Report: Kairi Sane Under WWE Contract Until February

An update on Kairi Sane.

On December 10, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Kairi Sane’s contract with WWE had expired.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer has corrected the report to say that her contract doesn’t expire until February, but she had publicly given the impression that she wasn’t going to renew her deal.

WWE reportedly wanted Sane to renew her contract and return to wrestle, but she reportedly didn’t want to live in the US.

Sane was written off WWE television in July 2020 and returned to Japan to work as an ambassador for the company. She also provided commentary for Hell in a Cell 2021. She reportedly met with WWE officials to appear at Stardom 10th Anniversary event on March 3, but she was unable to get permission for the event.

Sane removed “WWE” from her Instagram handle, but it remains in her Twitter handle. She recently announced that she is launching a 24-hour fitness gym, PARA-FIT24, in the Shonan Enonshima Area of Japan.

She last wrestled on the July 20, 2020 episode of WWE Raw where she was defeated by Bayley. She is a former NXT Women’s Champion and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Asuka.

Fightful will continue to update fans on Sane’s status as more is known.
