‘Hangman’ Adam Page Retains AEW Championship On 1/5/22 AEW Dynamite
The Hangman has slain The American Dragon.
After fighting to a 60-minute time limit draw at Winter is Coming, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Bryan Danielson faced off once again for the AEW Championship. To ensure that a winner was crowned, both men agreed to have judges at ringside in case history decided to repeat itself.
The men kicked off tonight’s episode of Dynamite, the first on TBS, and wrestled for over 30 minutes. Both Page and Danielson were busted open and lost a great deal of blood. After numerous near-falls, Page was able to hit his Buckshot Lariat and pin Bryan for the pin and win.
Hangman won the title at Full Gear 2021, defeating Kenny Omega. His reign now stands at 53 days long.
