Undisputed IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Crowned At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night Two
Kazuchika Okada continues to reign.
Kazuchika Okada became the undisputed IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in the main event of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 night two when he defeated Will Ospreay.
For a second straight year, Okada bested Ospreay, putting him away with the rainmaker clothesline.
After the bout, Okada gave his respect to Ospreay, who was being helped to the back. Okada was confronted by Tetsuya Naito, who had defeated Jeff Cobb earlier in the night. The two hinted at facing each other at NJPW 50th Anniversary Show. Okada also invited Antonio Inoki to the 50th Anniversary Show.

Okada entered the bout as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Shingo Takagi in the main event of night one. His victory over Takagi set up the showdown with Ospreay, who was claiming to be the “real” IWGP World Heavyweight Champion as he never lost the title, but was forced to vacate it in May 2021 due to a neck injury.
