– WWE announced that they will be airing the NXT Championship match on tonight’s New Year’s Evil card, totally commercial free:

– Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Hiroshi Tanahashi discussed wrestling Keiji Muto one more time as part of the third night of Wrestle Kingdom 16. Tanahashi beat him for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship 15 years ago at the same event.

“It’s been a long time since that night,” says Tanahashi, who will tag with Kazuchika Okada against Muto and Kaito Kiyomiya. “I love that we get to do it again.

“At Wrestle Kingdom, I am always at my absolute best in that ring. I bring the highest of expectations, and I plan to live up to all of them.”

– Goldberg will be appearing once again on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs as he reprises his role as Coach Mellor for a James Bond-inspired episode.

– With New Japan Pro-Wrestling returning to AXS TV this March, BTI – Before the IMPACT will be ending its run on AXS.

– Here is the latest Vlog from Sammy Guevara

– Ring of Honor has named Jonathan Gresham as its wrestler of the month for December 2021:

Jonathan Gresham was arguably the best wrestler in the world heading into Final Battle: End of an Era on Dec. 11.

That night, Gresham removed the word “arguably” and replaced it with “unequivocally.”

Gresham scored a decisive win over “The Franchise of ROH” Jay Lethal to capture the original ROH World Championship belt. Lethal was a late replacement for ROH World Champion Bandido, who tested positive for COVID-19 two days before the show.

While Final Battle marked the end of this era of ROH, it was the only the beginning of Gresham’s reign. He defended the championship twice outside of ROH in December and has more defenses scheduled for January.

A week before Final Battle, Gresham defeated Dragon Lee, who had been 3-0 against him in singles matches.

Gresham also was named Wrestler of the Month in April.
