Will Ospreay has an opponent for night two of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16.
Kazuchika Okada is the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, defeating Shingo Takagi in the main event of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16. Okada managed to survive everything Shingo threw at him before finally putting Shingo away with the Rainmaker.
As a result of Okada’s victory, he will face Will Ospreay in the main event of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 night two to crown an undisputed IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

This marks the first time Okada has held the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. He is a five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
Ospreay is the “real” IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, having never lost the title but being forced to vacate it in May 2021 due to a neck injury. Takagi would win the vacant IWGP World Heavyweight Title by defeating Okada at NJPW Dominion 6.6 In Osaka-Jo Hall. After winning the G1 Climax tournament, Okada brought back the IWGP Heavyweight Title instead of using the usual G1 briefcase to set up the clash with Shingo at night one.
