Leon Edwards Says He’s Flying Under The Radar
Leon Edwards will be battling Vincente Luque in a welterweight division fight at UFC Fight Night 107.
The welterweight fighter feels that he’s flying under the radar right now in the UFC.
“I feel like I’m flying under the radar,” Edwards told MMA Junkie. “I just beat (Albert Tumenov), the No. 13 guy in the world (in the UFC rankings). I’m not even on the main card. I feel like (the respect is) still to come, and it will when I dominant this guy on Saturday.”
He also feels like his last win over Albert Tumenov was seen as a fluke by many and the fighter wants to prove everybody wrong this Saturday.
“This is a test to see if Tumenov was a fluke, isn’t it?” Edwards said. “Once I get this guy out of the way, I want someone in the top 15 – and I think this is where it takes off for me. … I don’t know (why I haven’t been pushed). All I can do is go in there and win. Once I go in there and get the job done, win the fights, then it’s pretty much out of my hands from there.”
Edwards has won four of his six fights under the UFC banner.
UFC Fight Night 107 takes place on Saturday, March 18 from The 02 in London, England with Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
