NAC Denies Alex Oliveira’s UFC 207 Appeal

Despite the fact that Alex Oliveira and Tim Means have already completed their rematch at UFC Fight Night 106, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has denied Oliveira’s appeal from their first encounter at UFC 207.

The first fight between the two ended in a no contest after Means cracked Oliveira with an illegal knee strike to the head in the first round of their fight. Oliveira contested that he should have won the fight by disqualification due to the illegal strike instead of the no contest.

In their rematch at UFC Fight Night 106, the Brazilian welterweight would defeat Means by second round submission.

Means said in interviews prior to the rematch stating that he intentionally nailed Oliveira with the aforementioned illegal knee strike. The second bout between the two fighters took place in Brazil and there was no controversy to speak of, unlike their first encounter.

Alex Davis, who is the longtime manager of Oliveira, was the one who filed the appeal to the NAC on behalf of his client.
