Bandido Says He Will Give His All At Final Battle For The Fans, Wants To Win AAA Mega Title One Day

Bandido looks ahead to ROH Final Battle and discusses his goals for wrestling in Mexico.

Bandido is one of the top performers in all of professional wrestling, regardless of promotional barriers. With Ring of Honor looking to go on hiatus following Final Battle: The End of an Era, Bandido is now looking to his future and more specifically to Mexico where he recently competed for the AAA Mega Championship.

In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, the current Ring of Honor World Champion says he wants to one day hold a belt of the magnitude of the Mega Championship and is looking to make more opportunities for himself in Mexico and beyond 

“I want to hold a belt of that magnitude in Mexico,” says Bandido, who had previously starred for Mexican promotion CMLL. “AAA is very different from CMLL. They are very different companies and each one has their own way of working and capturing their fans with good quality encounters. I am excited to make more opportunities.”

The title is currently held by El Hijo del Vikingo, whom Bandido says is a great performer in the ring.

“Vikingo, he is spectacular,” Bandido says. “What he can do above the ring is amazing. I want to do more with him, either against him or with him as a partner.”

Bandido is the current Ring of Honor World Champion and will be defending the title at Final Battle in what will be the final Ring of Honor show for at least 6 months as the promotion goes on hiatus to reimagine what it can become.

In the interview, Bandido says that he promises to give his all in the ring at Final Battle because he believes that the fans deserve that much. 

“Without a doubt, it is the dressing room,” Bandido says. “There is a brotherhood and companionship that make you feel at home. That is what I will miss greatly. I owe everything to the fans, and that’s why I wrestle the style I do. They have brought me to where I am now, and I will always, always, give my full, maximum effort for them every time I step in the ring, just like I will at Final Battle.”

Bandido will also be working the debut show for TERMINUS Pro Wrestling on January 16, wrestling for the man he will face at Final Battle, Jonathan Gresham.
