Popular WWE Cruiserweight Out Of Action For Up To 5 Months

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that popular WWE Cruiserweight Cedric Alexander is injured and may be out of action for up to 5 months.

Multiple sources confirm Alexander sustained a right knee injury and the prognosis is that won’t be able to get back in the ring for 3 to 5 months–putting his estimated return date at somewhere this summer.

The cruiserweight division has taken off in recent weeks, with the addition of new champion Neville and now Austin Aries, who just made his debut on 205 Live last week after months behind the commentary desk as he recovered from a broken orbital socket he suffered last October while still down in NXT. Some fans believed that Alexander was overdue for a push in the division, as Rich Swann and Jack Gallagher had programs for the title in the past few months.

He became a huge fan favorite during the Cruiserweight Classic when his second-round match with Kota Ibushi tore the house down. Fans chanted "Please Sign Cedric!" and Triple H came out to put his arm around Alexander, signaling to the fans that he'd think about it.

We’ll keep you updated with any new information as it becomes available.
