Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have already competed twice under the UFC banner, with the Stockton native winning at UFC 196 and the Irishman winning at UFC 202.
Diaz does believe that if a long rumored boxing match between McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr would come to pass, his longtime rival has a chance to win.
"I think it is a publicity stunt but McGregor, when it comes to boxing, is good," Diaz said on Sports Joe. "He's got a good chance to make something happen in two or three rounds. If anything, he has two or three good rounds. He's got an amateur style; he's got good movement and good punches for six or eight minutes… He's got a puncher's chance, if anything."
McGregor has competed once since their last meeting, a win over Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 205. Diaz has been sitting on the sidelines since UFC 202, encouraging the UFC to give him big deal fights instead of just big money fights.
McGregor isn’t the only UFC fighter interested in a boxing career as Diaz himself has started applying for boxing licenses as well in the state of California.
