Kayla Harrison is the hottest free agent in sports and everyone has been calling.
After finishing up her run with PFL where she won the Women’s Lightweight Tournament for a second straight year, Harrison is a free agent in the world of sports and has offers from multiple companies, including WWE.
“Everyone is trying to sign Kayla. Even WalMart tried to sign Kayla. The WWE has been calling too, but we’re interested in real fights,” said Ali Abdelaziz in an interview with TMZ Sports.
Ali double confirmed WWE’s interest, but when asked if there was a possibility of Kayla joining WWE, Ali said, “No, she’s focused on fighting right now.”
Speaking to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Harrison also confirmed that WWE reached out, but explained why she is unlikely to join the company.
“Everyone wants what they can’t have, a tale as old as time. I had talked to them prior to starting MMA, they were interested after the 2016 Olympics, but at the time, I had just finished competing and lived out of a suitcase for 10-12 years and there were two things about it that I didn’t like. Number one was, you travel four days a week for the shows. Number two, was you weren’t in control of your character, you don’t control the script. I was like, ‘Eh.’ At the time, I was much more of a kinder soul, not quite the heel that everyone has come to know and love. I was like, ‘No, it’s not for me.’ We’ll see. Sometimes, you have to give the fans what they want. There is no way I would be able to travel that extensively. It’s super important that I’m present for my kids lives. That’s the number one thing about being a parent,” she said.
Harrison was on AEW television during the American Top Team vs. Inner Circle feud and received rave reviews for her work.
“The problem is, I’m just good at everything. Everyone says I’m a natural and I didn’t even do anything. If being a natural is just standing there and kissing your muscles and flipping off the crowd, that’s not even me acting, that’s just me being me. I should get an award for that performance,” she said. “It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it, it was a great experience, mostly to see Dan, the nerd he is, geeking out and pacing and practicing his lines. Watching the storyline unfold and seeing it happen has been a fun experience. I really enjoy the wrestling fans. I’ve had a little back and forth with them. I made some comments and they’re crapping all over me. I’m impressed with their die hard attitude.”
Ethan Page recently raved to Fightful about Harrison, saying he would love her in AEW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
It is unknown where Harrison will end up next.
