Homicide Gives His Ideal Retirement Scenario, Thought He Was Done After Wrestling Minoru Suzuki
Homicide started his wrestling career in 1993 and has racked up an impressive resume that includes the ROH World Title, ROH Tag Team Title, TNA X-Division Title, NWA Tag Team Title, and more.
Homicide is still active in the ring and shows no signs of slowing down at the age of 44.
Speaking to Sam Roberts on Not Sam Wrestling, Homicide was asked what the ideal retirement scenario is for him.
“I would love a program, but my vision, the way I see it, it would have to be New York City. I have to bring my mother. She never came to pro wrestling. She’s one of the people who told me, ‘this is not a job, get a real job. Go to King Food.’ [Laughs] Bring my mother, take my boots, put them in the ring, and just leave them. Tell people, ‘thank you so much.’ Leave and my new chapter is become one of those guys behind the scenes. I might not wear a suit, but I’ll be behind the scenes like a producer, coach, whatever. As a performer, my vision is wrestle somebody from New York City, wrestle my last match in New York; I started in New York, I’m gonna finish in New York. People say, ‘I’m gonna take out Homicide.’ The only one that is going to take out Homicide is Homicide. I already got a video too. Homicide is walking the street and there’s a guy with a barrel shotgun and he kills Homicide. Camera turns and it’s me. I killed Homicide. That’s my vision. Bring me mother, take my boots, and put them in the ring,” he said.
When asked if GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom in January would be an ideal scenario for him, Homicide replied, “January, too soon. I’m still coming to support. He did a show for me, 5150 in Brooklyn, I wasn’t going to retire. I wrestled Minoru Suzuki and I was thinking about it. I told my friends, ‘I think I’m done.’ Queens, New York against one of the guys that I idolized and was on my bucket list. ‘I think I’m done.’ Nahhhh.”
Homicide wrestled Suzuki on September 24 at GCW Get Lost Alot. That same night, he appeared at AEW Rampage Grand Slam (taped on September 22) to help Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston against Lance Archer & Suzuki.
