Sonny Onoo Comments On Watching Yuji Nagata vs. Jon Moxley On AEW Dynamite From The Arena

AEW has become a hub for the stars of wrestling’s past to get one more day in the sun. Names like Diamond Dallas Page, Juventud Guerrera, and Blue Meanie have all popped up for one-off appearances, and Jake Roberts, Tully Blanchard, and Arn Anderson are all working as managers for top-tier AEW wrestlers.

Speaking on the Perched on the Top Rope podcast, Sonny Onoo, who was translating for Ultimo Dragon in the interview, revealed Dragon’d thoughts on AEW-Owen Hart Foundation partnership.

“[Ultimo Dragon] feels that because Kenny Omega is Canadian [and] one of the principal persons in AEW as well as he’s the champion. So I’m sure there’s that influence as well.”

Yuji Nagata also had one more major bout on TNT, facing Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Championship on an episode of AEW Dynamite. Onoo, Nagata’s WCW manager reflected on rekindling with all of his former co-workers in AEW while attending the event.

“I was there in person to see Yuji Nagata come back on the same network, TNT that WCW was on, and not only that many of the guys [on the] production crew [were] many of the WCW guys, so it was good to see everybody. [It] gave me opportunities to go see and you know, who I haven’t seen for 20 years, and many of them, like Dean Malenko [and] Arn Anderson, those guys are people working behind the scenes on AEW. So it’s great to see those guys.”
