Bantamweight Champion Nonito Donaire To Face Reymart Gaballo On December 11
Looking to defend his WBC Bantamweight Title for the first time, Nonito Donaire will face off against Reymart Gaballo in California.
It announced the bout between the two bantamweights will be taking place inside the Dignity Health Tennis Stadium in Carson. ESPN was the first to report that Brandun Lee and Juan Heraldez will meet in a 140-pound affair on the card.
Donaire 38, made his boxing debut in 2001. After losing his second fight, Donaire would go on a 30-fight win streak. During that time he won the IBF and IBO Flyweight, WBC and WBO Bantamweight, and WBO Super-Bantamweight Titles. Losing to Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2013, Donaire has since gone 10-4, winning multiple titles along the way.
After Naoye Inoue beat him in the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Finals in 2019, Donaire returned in 2021 and beat Nordine Oubaali via KO to win the WBC Bantamweight Title.
Gaballo made his boxing debut in 2014. Winning the interim WBA Bantamweight Title in 2018, Gaballo would end up winning four fights in 2019. His last fight was in December 2020, beating Emmanuel Rodriguez for the interim WBC Bantamweight Title.
