Jeff Hardy: I Love Hitting The Twist Of Fate On Matt Hardy, Especially When He’s Being A Butthole
Jeff Hardy has put many foes away over the years with either the Swanton Bomb or the Twist of Fate.
While Matt Hardy has established the Twist of Fate more than Jeff, the young Hardy enjoys hitting the move on his older brother.
“I guess I’d have to say my brother because it’s our move as a tag team to set up for the swanton. Especially when he’s being a butthole and not being a good guy, it’s always fun to his my brother with it,” Jeff told Ryan Satin on Out of Character when asked who his favorite is to hit the Twist of Fate on.
When asked who named the Swanton Bomb, Jeff replied, “I think I did. Jim Ross was commentating at the time and originally it was senton, but I thought it looked kinda graceful and swans are kinda graceful and I was like, ‘What if we call it Swanton instead of Senton?’ It’s amazing how it kinda stuck. That’s what it is, that’s my finish.”
Hardy has created many memorable moments with the Swanton, including jumping off ladders, chambers, production trucks, and staging, but his most memorable Swanton came off the top rope.
“It would have to be when I became WWE Champion for the first time, I think it was against Triple H and Edge. That one I hit, I knew it was my moment and my dream was coming true. That’s by far the biggest and most memorable Swanton, just from a champion perspective and a childhood dream coming true. That one is at the top,” he said when asked about his most memorable Swanton.
Hardy won the WWE Championship at WWE Armageddon 2008.
Hardy is still going strong in 2020, facing Austin Theory on Monday’s WWE Raw. You can find full results from WWE Raw by clicking here.
