MSK Reflect On Their First Interaction With Triple H, Compare Him To A ‘Real Cool Dad’
MSK, Wes Lee and Nash Carter were in awe of Triple H.
The NXT system is led by Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Undoubtedly, those are two men that have seen it all in wrestling and want to help facilitate the growth of the next generation.
Currently, the NXT Tag Team Championships are held by MSK. Two high-flyers with a daredevil spirit, MSK has been praised by Triple H in multiple interviews since their arrival.
Fightful recently spoke with NXT’s incumbent tag team champions about the first time they met Triple H. Both men admitted that they were starstruck but have really enjoyed the relationship that they had built with him and the confidence that he has shown in their ability.
Carter began, “I don’t get star-struck often, but..man…it was time to play the game.”
“He’s sitting down, his back is turned to us, so when the door opens, the chair spins around and he stands up and we just like [frozen]. He was like a real cool uncle or real cool dad who brought us in and was like, ‘I really like you guys. You guys are awesome,'” Wes added
Wes continued, “There’s a level of compassion that he has too. What he’s saying to us, we know it’s coming from his heart. That man has no downtime so anytime he stops and speaks personally with you, he’s not going to waste his time. He’s not going to waste his efforts with side comments or unnecessary things, he’s going to get to the meat and potatoes and give you everything you need. That’s exactly what he did with us and it was awesome.”
Carter added, “Especially one interview where he said he had and the drive and that he would run through a wall for us. Hearing that, it’s like, let’s go. It got me so amped.”
Wes concluded, “If you show us, you’re behind us, we will go through the ring, the gauntlet, crucible, anything that is necessary to live up to the expectations and belief you have in us.”

MSK, for now, is still the top tag team on Tuesday nights on NXT 2.0. Fightful has live coverage of NXT every Tuesday beginning at 8 p.m. eastern time.
