Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Champion Crowned
Julia Budd made MMA history at Bellator 174 when she defeated Marloes Coenen by fourth round TKO to become the first ever Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Champion.
Budd, who entered the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, used takedowns followed by ground and pound to secure the gold.

Round Four: The round begins with Coenen attacking Budd with a punching combination, Budd scores a takedown on Coenen and she gets side control. Budd starts attacking Coenen with ground and pound, Budd transitions to the full mount on Coenen. Budd attacks Coenen with a plethora of ground and pound until the referee jumps in.
Official Result: #2 Julia Budd def. #1 Marloes Coenen by TKO via strikes (2:42, R4) to win the Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Title
Also interesting to note is that Budd holds a victory over the current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion in Germaine De Randamie, whom Budd defeated by unanimous decision at Strikeforce Challengers 16 in 2011.
The lone losses that Budd has suffered in her professional MMA career came to current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes and former UFC Women’s Bantamwieght Champion Ronda Rousey.
