Drew McIntyre Has ‘Heat’ With His Sword, Jokes About Having A Match With It At WrestleMania
Drew McIntyre jokes about facing his sword at WrestleMania 38.
For about a year now, Drew McIntyre has been bringing a sword to the ring with him as an added part of his entrance. Seen as a family heirloom, Angela, the name of the sword, is quickly becoming associated with Drew McIntyre the way a sledgehammer is associated with Triple H.
Speaking with Kevin Kellam of Sportskeeda, Drew McIntyre spoke about bringing the sword through TSA and how he is “jealous” of the way the sword gets to travel now.
“When I first brought it to TV. The first time I went through TSA, you know what it’s like, you’re waiting in line. It’s so monotonous, the people who work there say the same thing over and over, so they’re almost in robotic mode with, ‘Sir do you have any laptops or iPads right now? ‘No, I do have this bloody great sword.’ That got their attention and unfortunately, after that, the sword had to travel separately against his own private plane it’s own special treatment special, it gets treated better than me.”
He continued, “Way more legroom. It can lay down and, you know, it’s just waited on hand and foot. I’m getting a little jealous, honestly. There’s some tension building between me and the sword and perhaps at WrestleMania next year, McIntyre versus the sword is the main event.”
While he is likely not to face the sword, Drew McIntyre will have one more chance to become WWE Champion at WWE Crown Jewel before going over to the SmackDown roster on Friday, October 22. Learn more here.
