Dave Finlay Is Not Interested In Ending FinJuice Any Time Soon; Wants To Be A Singles World Champion
David Finlay loves being part of FinJuice.
The team (Finlay and Juice Robinson) was first formed in 2017 and has captured both the IWGP and IMPACT Tag Team Championships. Speaking with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Finlay admitted that he does have aspirations of one day becoming World Champion, but is still having a blast working tag matches with Juice.
“I do have aspirations of one day becoming World Champion,” Finlay shared. “At the same time, though, I have so much fun doing tag matches. I really, really enjoy them. I Love tagging with Juice. It’s a blast and never feels like work. So yeah, like I’ll do this until I don’t want to do it anymore and then I guess we part ways, maybe? Or maybe we don’t, I don’t know. But I do have aspirations of being a World Champion somewhere.”
During his time with New Japan (and now IMPACT), Finlay has yet to hold a singles title.
When asked for a timeframe on when he’d like to capture gold for himself, the 28-year-old said that he still has some growing to do but is also aiming for sometime in the next few years. He added that he is thankful to IMPACT for giving him the opportunity to get in those reps. Here are his full remarks:
“I have no idea. That’s a good question. I haven’t thought about that, I guess the sooner the better, Right? I’m 28 now, you know, so hopefully within the next few years, would be the time to pull the trigger on that. But I think I have a bit of growing to do before I get to that point. I think IMPACT has given me that platform to kind of get those reps in and we’ll see what the future holds.”
FinJuice came to IMPACT in February and have been caught up in a feud with Bullet Club in recent weeks. Most recently, Finlay picked up a win over Hikuleo on the September 23 episode of IMPACT Wrestling.
