Miesha Tate Tests Positive For COVID-19, Ketlen Vieira Matchup Postponed
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has been forced out of her upcoming bout with Ketlen Vieira on October 16 due to her testing positive for COVID-19.
Sherdog’s Marcelo Alonso and Tristen Critchfield were the first to report the news of Tate testing positive for the virus and the matchup with Vieira being postponed now until sometime in November. Tate came out of retirement and returned to fighting after a near six-year layoff in her last Octagon outing, defeating Marion Reneau via a third-round TKO at UFC Vegas 31. Vieira on the other hand is 1-2 in her last three fights and dropped a unanimous decision to Yana Kunitskaya at UFC Vegas 19 in her most recent appearance.
