Report: Big Light Heavyweight Fight To Headline UFC Sweden Card

A light heavyweight division attraction will headline a yet to be named UFC Fight Night event from Sweden this coming May as #2 Alexander Gustafsson faces #3 Glover Teixeira.

Gustaffson (17-4-0) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, defeating Jan Blachowicz, while suffering defeats to Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson. Gustafsson has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title twice, losing to former champion Jon Jones and also losing to current champion Daniel Cormier, both losses came by way of decision. Gustafsson hasn’t put a winning streak together in over four years, his last winning streak lasted for a total of six fights and just over two years time.

Teixeira (26-5-0) has won four of his last five fights, with notable victories coming over the likes Ovince St. Preux and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira has already competed once this year, defeating Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision at UFC 208.

The yet to be named UFC Fight Night event takes place on Saturday, May 28 from Stockholm, Sweden.
