Damian Priest: I’m Not A Success On WWE Raw Without NXT
While fans have criticized the disconnect between NXT and the main roster in WWE, some have found success within the system.
Damian Priest was called up from NXT in January and has gone on to team with Bad Bunny at WrestleMania and win the United States Title at SummerSlam.
Appearing on WWE After The Bell, it was noted that Priest still goes to the WWE Performance Center on his off days to help with the NXT talent.
“Damian Priest isn’t a success on Monday Night Raw if it wasn’t for NXT. Plain and simple,” he said. “The bonds that I built there and the feeling that I get walking into that place is a feeling of success. I love walking in there and it’s an aura that is incredible. Obviously, I love going there to support and going there to watch. I still try to learn as much as I can. I get to pick Triple H’s and Shawn Michaels’ and the coach’s brains, the producers that are there as well. I love going for the atmosphere, the friendships, and still learning. I love this business. I have no issue being around the business at all times. Some guys and girls are like, ‘so many years, it’s good to take a break.’ I get it. I love being around the business as much as I can.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Priest discussed how The Miz has helped him on the mic. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
