Corey Graves Wishes WWE Had More Nods To History Like Edge’s Brood Entrance At WWE SummerSlam

Edge had to tap into his dark past ahead of his bout against Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam.

On the SmackDown before SummerSlam, Edge alarmed Rollins with the famous Brood theme before dousing him with a Brood Bath. At SummerSlam, Edge used the Brood theme and ring of fire entrance heading to the ring for SummerSlam.

Speaking on After The Bell, WWE Raw announcer Corey Graves explained why he wishes WWE would have more nods to the past.

“The fact that Edge gave a nod with the old Brood entrance. I wish we did more like this. We have such a rich history. Our fans, some of them may have short memories, but the hardcore fans; the ones that love this, live this, and breathe for this, it’s a bit of a love letter saying, ‘Here is to you because you were around for this and remember this.’ It’s equally as awesome to new people who may have never seen it and gives an incentive to go back and check out how unbelievable the Brood was, but it added another layer to the story,” said Graves.

Graves explained Edge needing to tap into his past and praised Edge and Rollins for the story they told at WWE SummerSlam.

While many fans loved Edge paying homage to the Brood with his entrance, Gangrel revealed that the entrance cost him an appearance on AEW Dynamite. You can find Gangrel’s full comments by clicking here.
