Alistair Overeem will make his GLORY kickboxing debut against the promotion’s heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven.
The former Strikeforce heavyweight and K-1 World Grand Prix champion announced the matchup against Verhoeven on the latest edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. The bout will headline GLORY: Collision 3 on October 23 from the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands.
Overeem will make his return to kickboxing for the first time since December 2010, where he defeated Peter Aers in the finals of the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix via a first-round TKO. Verhoeven meanwhile is 58-10 as a professional kickboxer and hasn’t lost a fight since January 2015. The Dutch heavyweight champ defeated Tarik Khbabez via a first-round TKO at GLORY 77 in his latest appearance.
