GSP Proclaims The New Version Of Himself To Be The Best
Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre signed a new deal with the UFC, returning to the promotion after a self-imposed retirement a few years back.
GSP posted the following video on his Instagram, declaring the new version of himself to be better than the old version we last saw in 2013.
Here is an excerpt of what GSP said in the video:
“I think for me, it’s a good time to come back now is because I’m 35 years old. I just finished a training camp that I did to see if I was at a world-class level, and I feel at the best that shape of my life, better than I’ve ever done. The Georges St-Pierre now would be the Georges St Pierre that was the greatest of the time that he used to compete. So I can’t wait to go back in there and show the people, including myself, to test my skill and see how everything goes,” says GSP.
GSP hasn’t competed since UFC 167, where he defeated Johny Hendricks by decision to retain the UFC Welterweight Title. GSP would relinquish the gold upon retirement, it has been held by three separate fighters since the aforementioned break from competition.
