Report: Student Brings ‘Kill List; To Middle School, Inspired By List of Jericho

A middle school student in Florida brought a “kill list” to class that, reportedly, was inspired by the List of Jericho used by Chris Jericho on WWE Raw.

A report by MyNews13 in Orlando cited a Osceola County Sheriff’s Office incident report, which stated that the boy’s family said the boy got the idea for the list from WWE and Chris Jericho. The family added in the report that the boy had no intent of actually harming anyone.

The student brought the list to class, and the incident was reported to the Osceola Sheriff’s Office on February 16.

The school sent out an automated call to parents and guardians following the incident that said, in part, “We are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure that proper measures are taken.”

The school has yet to disclose any disciplinary action that will be taken against the student who brought the list to school.

MyNews13 interviewed a parent, Michelle Spangler, who kept her children home from school on the day after the incident.

A 14-year-old does not just write a list because it’s just a list. We’re not in kindergarten, saying, ‘This kid is not my friend anymore.’ He literally knew what he was doing,” Spangler said.

A school spokesperson released a statement that said, “These concerns are all based on rumors, and we are not going to proliferate these rumors any further.”

Jericho debuted his list in September and it has been a staple of his on-screen persona ever since.

WWE currently is selling five pieces of list-related merchandise on its website, including a “List of Jericho” clipboard.
