ROH Teases Picking Up WWE Releases, Britt Baker Jokes Red Velvet Should Be Arrested | Fight Size

Here’s your fight size update for Friday, August 13, 2021:

– In the latest Kevin Eck blog on Ring of Honor’s official website, Ring of Honor teases recently released wrestlers joining the promotion:

“I’m hearing that some talented wrestlers who were recently released from another organization could be appearing at Death Before Dishonor. Let the speculation commence.”

On Twitter, the promotion was a little less subtle:

– During a recent appearance on Mark Madden’s radio show, Britt Baker joked that Red Velvet should be arrested for interrupting her on Dynamite last week.

“She should have been arrested. Honestly, you can’t interrupt my promos. It’s primetime. Every week, I draw over a million viewers. What are you doing? She should have been fine, honestly, if we’re being realistic here.”

– Speaking with talkSPORT, Samoa Joe discussed William Regal’s impact on his career:

“William Regal has been one of the most impactful people on my professional life. Being young and brash, you think you have this whole thing figured out. I spent one weekend with William Regal being his driver and learning while he was out scouting in California, you realize there are so many more levels to this than I could have possibly imagined.

“Just conducting yourself as a professional, what’s important in a match, the qualities of a great grappler; these are all things that spawned with him and just the continued mentorship throughout my career. He’s been a mentor for several guys whether they were in WWE or not. I spent most of my career outside WWE, but William Regal was still there for me being a mentor and a voice when I needed him. He had a tremendous amount of impact on me and it’s great to be working with him, especially in this capacity.

– Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Hiroshi Tanahashi praised Lance Archer.

“However many times we wrestle, I always think he’s great,” Tanahashi says. “This time it’s in the states, on his home turf, so I have to be careful of him having the home-field advantage. I’m excited to find out what will be different this time.”
