UFC Fight Night 105/Bellator 172 Ratings Are In
A rare Sunday Night event for the UFC took place on February 19, as the worlds largest MMA promotion presented UFC Fight Night 105.
The show, which saw Derrick Lewis knockout Travis Browne in the main event, drew an average of 907,000 viewers.
This past Sunday’s event peaked at 1,019,000 viewers, but that wasn’t for the main event fight, but actually for the co-main event fight between former UFC Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks and former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard.
As the UFC Fight Night 105 event was going on, so was the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, which averaged 6,513,000 viewers.
This past Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 105 Preliminary Card, which featured Santiago Ponzinibbio and Nordine Taleb in the featured spot, averaged 760,000 viewers.
The pre-fight show averaged 233,000 viewers and the post-fight show averaged 249,000 viewers, both of those shows aired on Fox Sports 1.
Bellator MMA ran an event that day before, Bellator 172, which was headlined by UFC veteran Josh Thomson and Patricky Freire, averaged 807,000 viewers. It would have been interesting to see what would’ve happened if the originally scheduled main event between Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione took place.
The next UFC event will be UFC 209, which will be taking place on Saturday, March 4 with Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson headlining.
