Chelsea Green Confirms WWE Withdrawal From Trademark Battle Over Her Name
Good news for Chelsea Green.
Green was in a legal battle with WWE over the trademark of her name “Chelsea Green.” Green gave WWE consent to trademark her birth name for merchandising purposes in November 2020 while she was still under contract with the company.
She was released by WWE in April. She filed a trademark on her name following her release, leading to the battle.
Fightful Select reported on Sunday night, “Fightful had reached out to WWE and Green about the situation, and were told that WWE made contact with Green Sunday night to inform her that they were going to release the trademark on the name so that she could use it.”
Green confirmed the news on social media on Monday.
You’re probably wondering why I didn’t talk about the legal issues with my name being trademarked??
Well, at 9pm last night I received a call saying they were withdrawing the trademark & the name is MINE!!— Green With Envy (@GreenWEnvyPod) August 9, 2021
Green was set to discuss the issue on her podcast, which was released on Sunday night before WWE withdrew.
Green made her IMPACT Wrestling debut at Slammiversary and will make her in-ring debut for Ring of Honor at Glory by Honor.
