Returning Al Iaquinta Still Unhappy With UFC

Lightweight competitor Al Iaquinta will be returning to the UFC after a long absence at UFC Fight Night 108, where he will be taking on Diego Sanchez.

Iaquinta has talked about his frustrations with the UFC in the past, but felt the opportunity to face Sanchez was to good to pass up.

“There’s no contract signed or nothing,” Iaquinta said on The MMA Hour. “They just announced the fight. Why would you do that? But I do want the fight and I think it’s a good idea. I’m still not happy with the contract, but what the hell am I gonna do? Just sit here and do nothing? I gotta do something. I’ve gotta at least fight. Nothing is gonna change. It is what it is. It sucks.”

The lightweight competitor hasn’t fought in nearly two years, his last fight was a decision win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC Fight Night 63. Outside of being an MMA fighter, Iaquinta is also a real estate agent, something he has been enjoying during his time off.

“I’m doing good with the real-estate stuff,” Iaquinta said. “It’s kind of making some money. I’m just having a good time. I want to get in there and fight. I don’t know. I said I was as close to retirement as possible. I was pretty f*cking close. And I don’t know if I’m still fighting. Who the f*ck knows what’s gonna happen? I don’t know.”

UFC Fight Night 108 takes place on Saturday, April 22 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov headlining.
