Ric Flair Issues Statement On WWE Release, Says He’s Not Upset With WWE

Ric Flair gives his first comments on his WWE release.

On Monday, Fightful and Wrestling INC reported that Ric Flair requested and obtained his release from WWE.

WWE confirmed the release of Flair on Tuesday morning. Taking to social media, Flair gave the following statement on his release:

I am officially able to respond to all the press related to my requested release from WWE, which they have given me. I want to make it really clear with everyone that I’m not upset with WWE at all. They solely are responsible for putting me in this position of life that I’m in right now, where I’m seen in the brightest light ever. We have a different vision for my future. I wish them nothing but continued success! Thank you for everything! Nothing but respect!

Flair was involved in a storyline with Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair in January and February, but the storyline was dropped when Evans became pregnant and was removed from television. Charlotte ended up sending her dad home as a result.

Ric commented on the storyline in May, saying he didn’t like it, but that he couldn’t win an argument with Vince McMahon. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
