WWE NXT Results for 7/27/21 Adam Cole vs Bronson Reed, Imperium vs Hit Row

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE NXT!
Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher vs Oney Lorcan & Pete Dunne
Tim and Pete lock up before exchanging wrist locks and grappling on the mat before exchanging holds until they get to their feet and Tim counters a triangle armbar before Pete locks in a knee bar. Tim kicks Pete away before Oney and Tommaso come in and exchange standing side headlocks before Tommaso beats on Oney and tosses him through the ropes before knocking him off of the apron. Tim comes back in and transitions from one submission to the next before Tommaso comes back in and mocks Pete who is quick to come in and lock up with Tommaso. Tim and Tommaso then beat on Pete and Oney simultaneously before playing to the crowd and sitting on top of the announce table as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Tim and Oney exchanging strikes until Tommaso and Pete come back in and Tommaso drops Pete repeatedly before hitting a limitless clothesline. Tommaso hits a double clothesline before everyone hits a move until Tommaso counters a Bitter End and Ridge Holland returns at ringside before Pete hits the Bitter End on the second attempt for the pin and the win.
Winner: Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan defeat Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher via pinfall.
– After the match Pete and company attack and lay out Tim and Tommaso with Ridge’s help.
– We get a backstage promo by Hit Row ahead of their match against Imperium later tonight.
– Samoa Joe comes out to the ring with a table and contract in hand before NXT General Manager William Regal comes out and Joe gives him his resignation letter and a paper to reinstate him as an active roster member of the black and gold brand to which he does. Regal then signs the last paper and makes an NXT title match between the champion Karrion Kross and Joe for Takeover next month.
– We get a video package for LA Knight and Cameron Grimes on the green for eighteen holes.
NXT Breakout Tournament First Round Match
Carmelo Hayes vs Josh Briggs
Josh slams Carmelo before Carmelo uses his speed to stay one step ahead of Josh until Josh catches him and launches him over the top rope and down onto the floor. Josh tosses Carmelo back inside and traps Josh in the ropes before kicking him for two before locking in a guillotine that Josh powers out of and drops Carmelo with a running back elbow as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Carmelo making him comeback as he drops Josh repeatedly before locking in a cravat and hitting Josh with knees before hitting a Code Breaker for a near fall. Josh then gets a near fall off of chokeslam before hitting a running boot in the corner and Carmelo hits a diving leg drop for the pin and the win.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes defeats Josh Briggs via pinfall.
– We go to the ring as NXT Women’s champion Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai come out and Raquel begs anyone on the roster to come out and challenge her before Dakota turns on her and lays her out with a Helluva Kick.
– We get a backstage promo by Adam Cole ahead of his match against Bronson Reed in our main event as we go to commercial.
– Earlier this week we see NXT Women’s Tag Team champions Io Shirai and Zoey Stark at the performance before we cut to Mandy Rose backstage trying to recruit talent for her brand.
Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs Franky Monet & Jessi Kamea (w/ Robert Stone)
Kayden and Jessi start the match off before Kayden and Kacy double up on the taller Jessi before Franky tags herself in and hits a DDT before hitting a running meteora in the corner. Jessi and Franky then isolate Kayden until she gets the hot tag to Kacy who hits Jessi with an assisted 450 for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter defeat Jessi Kamea and Franky Monet via pinfall.
Imperium vs Hit Row (Ashante Adonis & Top Dolla)
Ashante and Marcel kick things off for their respective teams before Fabian comes in and Ashante takes control with a neckbreaker for two. Fabian catches a kick and clotheslines Ashante before Ashante hits a jawbreaker and tags in Top who man handles Fabian and runs him over. Ashante comes back in and he and Top hit an assisted neckbreaker for two before Fabian counters a neckbreaker into a back drop. Marcel then gets the hot tag before he’s distracted by the other members of HR at ringside which allows Ashante to capitalize for a deep two count as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Imperium in control of Ashante before they hit their signature double dropkick and a flurry of moves before Ashante counters a European bomb. Marcel locks in an ankle lock before dragging Ashante to the corner and Imperium beat on him in the corner until he gets the hot tag to Top. Top runs over Marcel and knocks Fabian off of the apron before hitting Imperium with a double running splash in the corner into a side slam before hitting a jumping elbow drop for a near fall that Marcel breaks up. Top then sends Marcel out of the ring before Ashante hits Fabian with a flap jack Imperium hit Ashante with the European bomb after Top goes after Legado Del Fantasma at ringside when they attack HR.
Winner: Imperium defeat Hit Row via pinfall.
– After the match Isaiah Scott runs LDF off with a chair.
– Backstage we see The Way before Indi shows Johnny and Candice a family portrait of The Way that Dexter drew and colored for her.
– Earlier today Wade Barrett interviewed one half of the Diamond Mine, Malcolm Bivens and Roderick Strong as we go to commercial.
– We go back to the golf course to LA and Cameron now arguing with Grizzled Young Veterans before LA hits a shot right into a water hazard and Cameron hits a hole in one with a golden ball.
– A match between Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis with Indi’s heart at stake is announced for next week in a match they’re calling Love Her or Lose Her.
Adam Cole vs Bronson Reed
Reed shoves Adam backwards when he tries to lock up before running him over when he goes for a side headlock and Adam goes for his knee with a chop block before kicking his leg in the ropes. Reed runs Adam over when he goes for a dropkick before hitting a military press and an elbow drop before countering a sunset flip into a sit-down splash. Adam counters a superplex before sending Bronson crashing down onto the mat before he rolls out onto the floor grabbing his knee as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Adam still in control as he focuses on Bronson’s injured leg before Bronson comes back with a flurry of strikes and a running splash in the corner. Bronson hits a running senton for two before Adam counters a suplex and Bronson hits a DVD for a near fall before Adam hits a shining wizard out of the corner for a near fall. Adam boots Bronson repeatedly before Bronson catches a kick and chops Adam in the corner before Adam hits the Panama Sunrise for a near fall. Bronson then turns Adam inside out before hitting a powerbomb and missing a diving splash before Adam hits the Last Shot for the pin and the win.
Winner: Adam Cole defeats Bronson Reed via pinfall.
– After the match Kyle O’Reilly comes out and attacks Adam with a chair and lays him out as we go off the air.
