Road to WWE Summerslam & Early Royal Rumble Odds
By Justin Hilbert
The road to WWE Summerslam 2021 is paved with money.
Money in the Bank, that is.
We just saw the return of John Cena in the Money in the Bank event on July 18th. And although the show started fairly slow, it was one of the most successful Pay-Per-View events over the last couple of years. Big E now gets a guaranteed title shot at a select moment of his choosing in 2022, and it felt good to see him win.
Now we have WWE Summerslam coming in late August. For us WWE fans, it looks like the WWE will go all out during the 2021 iteration. John Cena, Goldberg, EDGE, Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins should all be featured fighters.
Based on what we’ve seen up to this point my match card predictions are:
⦁ Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg
⦁ Roman Reigns vs. John Cena
⦁ Sheamus vs. Damian Priest
⦁ AJ Styles & Omos vs. Randy Orton & Riddle
⦁ Nikki A.S.H vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
⦁ Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch

Here are a couple of Summerslam Predictions
Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg
Recently on RAW, Goldberg came out to say hi to Bobby Lashley. Bobby Lashley is the people’s champion. But a 54-year-old Goldberg would like to take that belt from Lashley. Will he? I don’t know where the WWE would go from there as it just doesn’t make much sense to have a beyond middle-aged wrestler hang on to a championship belt for any length of time. Still, I think we’ll see Goldberg set against Lashley in Summerslam 2021, and I believe Bobby Lashley gets the big win.
Roman Reigns vs. John Cena
Roman Reigns is still the Universal Champ, and nobody has been able to slow him down. But John Cena, could he slow Reigns roll? After John Cena came out telling the crowd that he missed them during RAW, he issued a challenge to the Universal Champ, stating that he is after the Universal Champion and wants the title. He even said that the when is Summerslam, the why isn’t because he wants to be in the main event in front of millions or wants a record-breaking amount of wins. No, the ‘why’ is because Roman Reigns is an asshole.
Many are predicting that Roman Reigns will win in a heated battle against John Cena. I, on the other hand, think that John Cena might actually get the win. But perhaps it will be a win that doesn’t get him the belt itself because of a technicality.
Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch
Bianca Belair is hanging on as the women’s champ. She walked out and beat Carmella because despite short match prep time, ‘she stays ready to not have to get ready.’ She’ll likely face Becky Lynch at WWE Summerslam, who is no stranger to holding a belt. I’m sure many will think that Becky Lynch gets the belt back and rises like a phoenix from the ashes back to WWE A-lister stardom. My prediction is that it won’t happen. The WWE is going to ride with Bianca Belair as the top lady of WWE wrestling for a while longer.
Although there are no odds for Summerslam to be found, the Golden Nugget Casino have early odds on the Royal Rumble in 2022—I know, right? It’s frustrating and doesn’t make a lick of sense, other than the fact that the WWE has yet to confirm a single match.
Top Odds to Win the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble:
⦁ Big E 6/1
⦁ Brock Lesnar 10/1
⦁ Roman Reigns 10/1
⦁ Seth Rollins 10/1
⦁ Keith Lee 12/1
⦁ The Rock 12/1
⦁ Bobby Lashley 16/1
⦁ Cesaro 16/1
⦁ Daniel Bryan 16/1
⦁ Drew McIntyre 16/1
