More On NWA-IMPACT, Kylie Rae, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, And Collaborations
The Forbidden Door has been ripped off its hinges.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen talent shared across multiple promotions, including IMPACT, NJPW, MLW and more. After being on the scene in Nashville for Slammiversary, Fightful Select learned some more about that.
We’ve learned more about the IMPACT-NWA deal that has allowed Kylie Rae to sign with the NWA. We’re told that the former Siamond Diamond, Pat Kenney, was instrumental in making the deal happen, and he maintains a great relationship with Scott D’Amore. IMPACT specifically was said to have been really excited to have worked with another company, and we’ve been given an indication that there could be further talent hopping between the two companies in the coming months. IMPACT sources also indicated well before Slammiversary that there is no animosity between IMPACT and MLW, and that the relationship between ROH and IMPACT as “as friendly as it’s ever been,” and they’re happy there’s been a major shift in mentality of working together.
That ROH note was evident, when we also saw Chelsea Green joining IMPACT Wrestling. We’re told that her deal to come in was worked out around the same time her plans to go to Ring of Honor came together. As of now there has been no full-time contract signed between Chelsea Green, ROH or IMPACT Wrestling and we’re told that both companies was aware she’d be working for each other.
That wasn’t it for Slammiversary
Thunder Rosa appeared at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary to take on Deonna Purrazzo as her mystery opponent, and there’s a lot that went into it. We’re told that the deal was done about a month ahead of time, and that this won’t be the end of NWA doing some work with IMPACT Wrestling. To clear up any confusion, we’re told that as of now the IMPACT-Thunder Rosa appearance was a one-shot deal and she’s not scheduled to work the tapings.
In addition, Deonna Purrazzo is expected to work the NWA Empowerrr show against Melina, and build to a future match with Mickie James
