Deonna Purrazzo And Chelsea Green Recall Awkward Warrior Wrestling Match: ‘That Was Traumatizing’

Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green recall an awkward match between them at Warrior Wrestling in Chicago.

Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green are best friends. Sometimes, that is a recipe for great success in the wrestling ring. However, on the latest Green With Envy podcast, Green and Purrazzo recall an awkward outing in Warrior Wrestling prior to them signing with WWE.

Deonna and Chelsea thought they were out for a fun charity show and Chicago had other ideas.

“We went out thinking, ‘Oh, we can have fun, we’ll do a dance competition, right?,’ began Deonna.

“Your thing is, everyone knows you loved to do silly dances. You’d always post on social media. You did these silly dances, and then I was the ‘Hot Mess.’ So like, I always did stuff like that. Right? Okay, so we’re like thinking we’re gonna dance. We’re gonna go out there to fucking dance competition,” added Chelsea.

“You forced me to like, do the wave and do silly stuff, and the crowd really booed us. Like, ‘We want wrestling!’, continued Deonna.

Chelsea Green added, “The worst part was, I feel like, you were the heel. Like, you were the bad guy and I was a good guy. They turned so quickly, and they and they’re supposed to be cheering me and they’re booing me, and then they’re booing us.”

Deonna followed up, “That match, too! We were just not on the same page. So I remember like, I don’t know if I whipped you or you whipped me, but that weird spot in the ring between the ropes and the turnbuckle in the middle? Then, I took your finish terribly.”

Chelsea continued, “That’s the funny thing, I don’t remember that. I feel like you have a better memory when it comes to matches and wrestling and stuff. I just remember them booing and like, that’s all that matters to me. I was traumatized after that because I like comedy wrestling. That was supposed to be fun, and that was terrifying.”

Deonna then recalled how she wasn’t looking to get too violent ahead of her WWE signing.

“When we wrestled in Chicago prior to that match at [Warrior] It was like SHIMMER and you could kind of get away with some silly stuff like that. Although they also, when you got into like the wrestling they were really into the wrestling, this crowd was like, ‘Oh, no, we’re Chicago, like blood and kill each other hardcore wrestling,’ which, I was going to NXT maybe three weeks later, it was like, I am not gonna do any hardcore wrestling.”

Recently, Green recalled about VXT, her and Purrazzo’s team in NXT, and why she wouldn’t pitch the idea today. Learn more here.
