Jarrett Hurd (24-1) vs. Luis Arias (18-2)

Arias was the aggressor early on, while Hurd was finding his way with a few jabs. The sky opened up with rain, leading to a delay in the action. This resulted in a slippery ring. Lefts and rights punished Hurd at the end of the second round, as both were playing close to the vest. Arias continued to bring it to Hurd, who was protecting himself any chance he can get. Overhand rights by Arias would land on the inside following defensive shots by Hurd.

Hurd made the ultimate comeback in the sixth, and while Arias was hurt he hit solid body shots in the seventh. Arias did get hit with several low blows by Hurd early on. Both fighters were slipping as the rain returned. There was a supposed knockdown by Hurd in the ninth but Arias slipped. Both traded shots in the end, with Arias landing crisp left hooks.

Result – Luis Arias def. Jarrett Hurd via split-decision (97-93, 94-95, 96-93)

Chad Johnson (0-0) vs. Brian Maxwell (0-0)

Both decided to jab to start the fight, with Maxwell the aggressor early on. Johnson landed a few shots to the face, while also running around the ring. Maxwell would land a shot to the head, but Johnson would counter with combinations. After a few rounds of wild swinging, Maxwell knocked Johnson down with a huge right. Johnson got back up but looked like he was done. The two traded shots to end the fight.

“Listen, I don’t box. I fight, but ain’t in the ring, so of course I’m a little sloppy,” Johnson stated, who then called out Conor McGregor after the fight. “I lost my virginity tonight and it was fun.”
