Alex Garcia Calls Out Colby Covington
Alex Garcia is coming off of the biggest win of his UFC tenure, as he knocked out Mike Pyle in the first round of their bout at UFC 207.
Garcia now wants to fight another welterweight in Colby Covington, a fight that was supposed to happen months ago until Garcia pulled out due to an injury.
“He made some comments on Twitter, and I didn’t like him since that day,” Garcia said to MMA Junkie. “I want to shut his mouth a little bit. Either now, or in the future, or whatever he wants. I want to shut his mouth.”
Garcia has already earned four wins under the UFC banner, with the most notable coming over the aforementioned Mike Pyle and Mike Swick. The welterweight star has competed for a total of six times in the UFC and he’s now starting to feel comfortable inside of the Oactgon.
“I’m more comfortable being in the UFC and more relaxed,” Garcia said. “I want to be in the top 10 or 15, but if I don’t adjust my skills, I won’t get there. I want to reach that goal first, and then give myself more goals.”
As for Covington, he hasn’t competed since defeating Bryan Barberena by unanimous decision at UFC On Fox 22.
