WWE NXT Results for 6/8/21 The Last Stop Before Takeover: In Your House
Dakota Kai faces off with Ember’s Law on the go home edition of NXT before Takeover: In Your House!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s go home edition of WWE NXT ahead of Takeover: In Your House this Sunday night!
Austin Theory vs Oney Lorcan
We see earlier today that the two came to blows at the PC before they were separated by security before they start the match off by exchanging head and wrist locks before Austin dropkicks Oney into the corner and takes him down with a side headlock take over. Oney gets to his feet and backs Austin to the ropes before rocking him with uppercuts and taking Austin down before locking in a short leg scissors before Austin kicks him away and hits a jumping stomp into a suplex before Oney drops Austin with a back elbow. Oney then sends Austin out onto the apron before knocking him off of the apron and the two exchange strikes at ringside before Oney rips Austin off of the apron and down onto the floor before Pete Dunne comes out and down to ringside as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Oney in control before Austin hits a blockbuster as we see that Johnny Gargano has joined Austin at ringside with Pete on the opposite side in Oney’s corner before Austin clotheslines Oney over the top rope and down onto the floor before Oney comes back in and shoves Austin through the ropes and down onto the floor. Austin sends Oney into the barricade before tossing him back inside and hitting a running clothesline in the corner before hitting a Spanish fly for a deep two count before they clothesline each other at ringside before Pete and Johnny brawl to the back. Oney then sends Austin face first into the top turnbuckle before he falls through the ropes and back into the ring before hitting a half and half suplex for the pin and the win.
Winner: Oney Lorcan defeats Austin Theory via pinfall
– We then get a video package promo by LA Knight as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to Legado Del Fantasma in the ring as Santos Escobar gets on the mic briefly before he’s interrupted by North American champion Bronson Reed who shows a replay of him smashing Santos into the barricade last week before it takes over all of the screens in the CWC. Reed then comes down and gets into the ring before he’s joined by MSK and the six men face off before LDF leave and challenge MSK and Reed to a winner take all six-man where if LDF win they’ll win the North American title and the NXT tag titles.
Isaiah Scott (w/ Hit Row) vs Killian Dain (w/ Drake Maverick)
Scott locks in a headlock before Dain takes him down and drops him with a shoulder block before hitting an arm drag and a clothesline before clotheslining Isaiah through the ropes before Isaiah kicks him from the apron and rolls Dain back inside and hits a House Call for two. Isaiah grounds Dain before he fights back with strikes in the corner and a clothesline before hitting a running cross body for two before Isaiah hits a rolling, jumping flat liner and the House Call for a near fall before Dain slams Isaiah and hits a senton before Dain gets distracted by Isaiah’s crew. Isaiah then hits Dain with a running dropkick in the corner for the pin and the win.
Winner: Isaiah Scott defeats Killian Dain via pinfall.
– Backstage The Way’s Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell are interviewed as we go to commercial.
– We get a video package promo by Cameron Grimes.
Mercedes Martinez vs Local Talent
Xia Li attacks Mercedes before the match before they brawl and Mercedes sends Xia over the barricade before she boots her opponent once the match starts and pins her in under a minute.
Winner: Mercedes Martinez defeats a local performer via pinfall.
– Cameron Grimes and LA Knight arrive to the CWC before they join Ted DiBiase in the ring and he unveils the Million Dollar belt which will be contested in a ladder match at Takeover this Sunday night.
– Backstage security separate Karrion Kross and Kyle O’Reilly before GM Regal shows up and yells at them both to calm down as we go to commercial.
– Backstage Poppy meets with Regal and Triple H where she releases her latest album via her phone before Dexter Lumis shows up and gives her a picture he drew of her before she thanks him and they hug before Indi shows up and Dexter’s eyes get wide as he realizes what just happened.
Grizzled Young Veterans vs August Grey & Ikemen Jiro
August and Zack start the match off before Jiro and James come in before GYV double team Jiro as Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher come down to ringside and distract GYV which allows Jiro to get the hot tag to August who takes out Zack with a neckbreaker and James with a bulldog. August hits a corkscrew cross body before James counters August and James knocks Jiro off of the apron before GYV pin August with Ticket to Mayhem.
Winner: Grizzled Young Veterans defeat August Grey and Ikemen Jiro via pinfall.
– After the match GYV and Tommaso and Timothy have a verbal dispute before Tommaso and Tim throw chairs at the ring and rush it before GYV flee.
– Backstage Candice then briefly speaks to the camera as she’s making her way out to the ring as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to Candice in the ring as she calls out Poppy before Poppy comes out and introduces the returning Io Shirai who attacks Candice and sends her to the back before Poppy and Io celebrate.
Ember Moon vs Dakota Kai (w/ Raquel Gonzalez)
Moon and Kai dodge each other’s strikes before they get into a shoving match and lock up before backing each other into every corner before Kai sends Moon face first into the middle turnbuckle and hits a running boot in the corner for two before choking her and whipping her into the corner. Kai hits another running boot in the corner for two before Moon hits arm drags and a dropkick into a basement flat liner for two before hitting a snapmare into a PK and a running back elbow in the corner before Kai slings Ember into the post head first and she falls out of the ring as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Ember making her comeback as she drops Dakota repeatedly and hits a snapmare into an MX for two before rocking Kai with kicks and a flipping stunner for a near fall before Kai hits a neckbreaker for a near fall of her own as Raquel looks on from ringside. Kai drops Moon with a flurry of kicks for a near fall before Moon hits an electric chair drop into a powerbomb with a jack knife cover for a near fall before Kai rolls out of the ring and Raquel gets between her and Moon before Ember takes out both Kai and Gonzalez with a suicide dive. Moon then tosses Kai back inside and boots her before going up top and Raquel boots her down and onto the floor for the disqualification.
Winner: Ember Moon defeats Dakota Kai via disqualification when Raquel Gonzalez interferes.
– After the match Moon takes out Raquel with The Eclipse before standing tall with the NXT Women’s title and draping it over Raquel as we go off the air.
– We get a grainy taped promo by Karrion and Scarlett backstage as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to Kross and Scarlett in the ring with Regal before Kross tells Regal that he doesn’t run anything and that he’s not leaving until Kyle, Adam, Johnny, and Finn come out and everyone minus Adam brawl until it’s just Kross left standing before Adam shows up at the end and takes out Kross as we go off the air.
